AMEN Complete Drum Tracks For New Album
December 20, 2005Vocalist Casey Chaos (AMEN, SCUM) and Shannon Larkin (AMEN, GODSMACK) were recently spotted at Hollywood Recording Studios, where the dynamic duo finished laying down the drum tracks to an astonishing 48 songs towards the next AMEN album. "Now that we have finished the drum tracks at Hollywood [Recording], I will finish the rest of the album in Norway, in a town just north of Oslo," Casey said. Soon after, he plans to focus on SCUM — his project with Samoth (ZYKLON, EMPEROR),Faust (ex-EMPEROR),Happy Tom (TURBONEGRO) and Cosmocrator (MINDGRINDER) — and their upcoming shows overseas.
In other news, SCUM have just been nominated for Norway's Alarm Awards (equivalent to the Grammies in the U.S.) in the "Best Metal Album of the Year" category. The group's debut CD, "Gospels for the Sick", was released in Europe in early September via Dogjob Records, a division of Tuba. Candlelight Records USA issued the album in North America on October 4.
2006 will also mark the opening of the new AMEN Commune (preview),the "Refuse Music Store," which will hopefully contribute in helping to finish the recording of the new album. As a member of the "Angry Brigade" you will get exclusive tracks, videos, artwork and shirts, as well as other AMEN propAMENda and mixed media.
"I'm a lifer." Chaos said, "I've been making music since I was 15. If I would've been doing this for money I sure as fuck wouldn't be in AMEN. AMEN will never compromise. SCUM is just another animal altogether. Those guys are so brilliant, I'm just honored that we have made the album, and to share the stage with those guys is one of the most inspiring things I have ever experienced. Like I said, how many people can say that they sang a song with Nocturno Culto [DARKTHRONE]??"
